Celatom is for use in diatomite swimming pool filters.
STEP 1: INSPECTION Visually inspect filter elements, looking for tears, clogged filter elements or improperly fitted elements.
STEP 2: PRECOAT Create a slurry of DE and pre-coat the elements. Basic guideline is to use 1 pound per sq. ft of filter area. Refer to your filters manufacturer for more details.
STEP 3: FILTRATION Start the filtration process. The length of your cycle may vary, you generally want to cycle your entire pools water through the filter at least once a day. If needed you may add filter media into the skimmer basket during cycle in the event of increased number of swimmers or levels of debris in the pool to help prevent increased filter pressure.
STEP 4: BACKWASH & CLEANING. Back wash and clean your filter according to your filter manufacturers specs. This process involves reversing the flow of water through the filter and out a waste port on the filter. If you desire, you may recapture the used DE and mix it with your garden soil to promote root growth and water absorbtion.
